Jim Harney, works as an Artist in Residence for Posibilidad, a Bangor based nonprofit that prioritizes engaging people in conversation around the excluded of society. His photography, engaging storytelling, and group facilitation-skills allow discussions that provoke people to speak from the heart, in ways that often surprised them. The power of his stories revolves around people engaged in redefining power in their own lives. His photos complement the stories in a visceral way.

Recently he returned from ten days in Iraq as part of a 15-person International Peace Team organized by Voices in the Wilderness. His presentation will illustrate the people who will be affected by a Shock and Awe strategy developed by the Bush Administration that will drop the 800 “smart missiles” on Baghdad. Jim lives in Bangor, Maine with his partner Nancy Minott. He can be reached at Posibilidad, 85 Wiley Street, Bangor, ME 04401. Phone:  207-942-3501. Email: Donations will be accepted to further Jim's work.

We encourage you not to miss this rare and remarkable experience.
